Following the REWDT EGM on Saturday 5th December via Zoom we realise that many of you that attended may want to ask what The Crafthub position is in relation to The Pier premises.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have and you can message us on Facebook or email us at Crafthub@btconnect.com
We simply want a lease so that we can be up and running again to support the community as we have been doing.
We believed in good faith that REWDT would honour their offer made on 25th January 2020 to relocate us in the area known as the 'Old Shop'.
We agreed to this offer on 31st January 2020 and submitted items for consideration 12th February 2020.
You can read our responses to REWDT here

• The last time we had a meeting with REWDT was 25th January this year.
• Since April REWDT have chosen to communicate with us via solicitor. We have invited REWDT to reopen discussions and work in partnership with us on several occasions to no avail.
• The Crafthub was asked to agree to a non-negotiable lease that we had never seen and were not provided a copy of prior to the trust-imposed deadline
• The Crafthub has been successful in attaining funding throughout the pandemic and has been ready to reopen adhering to Covid-19 guidelines for several months
• We have attempted to pay rent on numerous occasions, which was returned to us with the request to stop any further payments.
• The Crafthub is independent of REWDT, and the only relationship we have/had is as landlord and tenant.
• We welcome any enquiries about the status of the Crafthub.
In the meantime we are sending you virtual seasonal goodies and wish you and your families a Very Merry Christmas and we hope to see you all in the New Year
Lots of Love and Christmas wishes

To the REW community - we are aware that a mailing has gone to households on our three islands that relates to The Crafthub and the Pier premises. The Crafthub Community Interest Company would like it known that this 'anonymous mailing' was NOT instigated or distributed by The Crafthub cic

WE’LL BE BACK!!!!
Hello everyone – an update from The Crafthub
To everone that has been in touch with The Crafthub both from our community and visitors - thank you for your support, it is really appreciated.
We know many of you are on return visits to Orkney and to Rousay unfortunately we are not yet able to open and at the time of writing all facilities, including toilets on Rousay remain closed.
If you are coming across it would be a good idea to bring everything you will need for your visit inc. food and drink.
Also....
Keep an eye on the weather forecast if you plan to visit as a foot passenger as there will be nowhere for you to shelter.
We hope you enjoy your holiday and look forward to welcoming you again in the future

Hello Christina
We’re going to fund your project idea
We’re so happy to tell you we really liked your application for National Lottery Awards for All. And we want to give The Crafthub cic - workshops for the 20s £10000 to help your community thrive.
In line with many other small social enterprises and community groups in Orkney we want to make sure we are doing all we can to protect 'you' our lovely community.
This is particularly hard for us, as we were set up to serve and benefit the community but we really, really, want everyone to stay safe, so....
As you know following government instructions we closed temporarily on 20th March - nearly 12 weeks ago!!!!
but when the GOOD TIME ROLL and they will .... we'll be as ready as we can be.
